Arati Kushwaha is a visual artist born in Maharashtra, India in 1982.
Being Indian, she recognizes India’s need for home-grown talent in the form of “Creation“ and “Innovation” to work towards development.

She represents both. Arati’s work explores themes of identity, gender, sexuality, femininity and sex selective self-induced abortion and destruction executed through sculptures, installations, video and waxwork. which represent diverse and critical ideas and raise awareness of these issues.

Arati’s deepest commitment and greatest challenge is to raise awareness about discrimination against the girl child in the Indian context.
